Danger is no stranger to the people who are on the front lines of a revolutionary movement such as ministry. In Acts 21, the Apostle Paul received warnings concerning the danger that he would face if he went to Jerusalem. Remember from Acts 20:22, the Apostle Paul mentioned that he must go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that should befall him there. He was compelled in his spirit to go to Jerusalem with no idea of what he would face.
Have you ever had a very strong inspiration, a compelling urge by the Spirit, to go somewhere when there was no knowledge of what you would encounter? Apostle Paul understood the feeling! The only certainty that the Apostle had was that in every city the Holy Ghost warned him that prison (bonds) and hardships (afflictions) would be waiting for him. It was in Acts 20 that you find the tenacity of a messenger and servant of Jesus Christ to stand strong in the face of danger and it set the course of Paul’s Jerusalem experience that you find in Acts 21. The mindset of a courageous person is like that of the Apostle Paul who said words like these “None of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
In the face of danger, you must not let those things you have to encounter move you away from your assignment. Let your focus be on completing the charge of ministry with JOY and continue to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and the grace of God.
Here are some important concepts that are drawn from the Apostle Paul’s journey back to Jerusalem that are resounding inspirations.
